It should have been our 6th edition of the Embassy of Dutch Creativity. A trade mission for the creative industry where we visit the Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity. Unfortunately the festival has been cancelled this year. As the Embassy we do want to keep the spotlight on Dutch Creativity so we had to come up with alternatives.
As I see it, we are all a bit done with zooming, hanging, skyping and are all longing for face to face meet-ups. Of course all in safe social distance. But, yes. For sure away from the screen. Specially in summer time. Challenge is how to make that happen for a trade mission. Well, if you can't go to the Embassy, the Embassy of Dutch Creativity will come to you.
The idea of the camper, was used in another trip. For SXSW a trip was planned with the HvA Master Digital Design. All was arranged. (Camp)Fireside Chat Sessions. SXSW was cancelled as well. And so the camper trip was skipped as well. The camper stayed top of mind.
Another challenge is how to arrange an internship where the marketing of an event was handled by the intern and the event is cancelled. You have to come up with an alternative. Luckily it is family. Add one with the other and the idea was born. We will buy a 2nd hand camper, pimp the camper to a driving Embassy of Dutch Creativity and travel through Europe showcasing the work of all ambassadors that have been part of the Embassy of Dutch Creativity the past 5 years. If life gives you lemons, make lemonade!
We will be travelling from August 15 - October 15. We will be the personal ambassadors of the ambassadors from the Embassy of Dutch Creativity. We will be "kwartier makers". Are you an ambassador and you want us to visit a specific company, let us know and we will dive into it.
